YG are planning to take China by storm as they announce a concert for their artists!
Artists such as Lee Hi, iKon, and EPIK HIGH are confirmed to all be performing together later on in the year, as YG closed a deal with Chinese mobile ticketing company Weiying Technology, and entertainment company Tencent Group in an attempt to pursue the Chinese entertainment market.
YG Entertainment’s CEO Yang Minsuk also confirmed that further artists will be performing in China as he stated: “We will introduce YG music to China through Tencent’s QQ Music and Tencent Video and hold concerts in the country in cooperation with Weying. In doing so, big data held by the two companies will give us a good opportunity to understand and more closely communicate with Chinese music fans.”
Lee Hi, known for her soulful vocals, released her hit single ‘MY STAR’ in May this year and is well-known for performing with Kpop veterans EPIK HIGH, who will also be performing in China this year. iKon are due to wrap up their ‘SHOWTIME’ tour in September, and have recently released their new music video ‘#WYD’ showcasing their softer side to fans.
