Lately it has become a rising issue with netizens attacking celebrities and organizations with derogative claims and malicious lies. The last known attack was earlier this month where a netizen made very harmful rumors towards singer IU and actress Lee Young Ae, and JYP. They have recently filed charges against the perpetrators.
YG Entertainment has taken immediate action against a netizen who has been harassing the company for years. According to the agency, a ‘Mr. Kim’ made savage comments towards the company whenever there were information regarding the agency and their artists. YG Entertainment authorized an investigation to be conducted. The Mapo district police were able to track down the messages to the IP of a ‘Mr.Kim.’ The harasser was then booked and later on confessed upon questioning. ‘Mr.Kim’ told the police, “I wrote the first malicious message a few years ago because of stress due to personal issues. I needed to vent. I got addicted to this type of behavior. I want to apologize and promise that I won’t do it again.”
‘Mr.Kim’ is responsible for attempting to defame YG and their artist for many years. ‘Mr.Kim’s’ malevolent acts have gotten worse over the years through the spreading of malicious rumors and messages, giving the agency no choice but to finally take action. It is said they had a multitudinous amounts of harassments.
The reason it took YG Entertainment so long to press charges is that they usually assumed they were young teens. After this incident the agency swore that they will be taking a firmer approach on future attacks. The agency hopes this will be a warning to future attackers that they will face devious consequences.
