Mnet has aired the first episode of YG Entertainment‘s new survival program “MIX & MATCH,” and we’ve recently been able to hear some honest thoughts from B.I.
The trainee stated, “My dream of becoming a singer hasn′t changed, so I will work harder and develop myself so that the six of us can stand up again under the new group name other than team B,” and honestly added, “After ‘WIN’ ended, I was constantly depressed for two months. I wanted to perform on stage. I couldn’t forget the ecstasy of being on stage so I wanted to perform even on a small stage. But since there was no stage for me to be on, I struggled a lot.”
Song Yoong Hyung confirmed B.I’s words saying, “B.I struggled the most after ‘WIN’ ended. That’s how he was able to write a better song.”
B.I then expressed, “After we lost the competition, there was no assurance on the fate of our team or when we would be able to debut so as the leader, I thought the only thing I could do to protect the team was to write a good song.”
YG’s CEO, Yang Hyun Suk, is not hiding his admiration for B.I. and shared, “He exceeds my expectation. All the BIGBANG members and the producers like B.I. He has the leadership skills to lead a team and writes songs that exceeds my expectation so I’m expecting a lot from him.”
“MIX & MATCH” is YG Entertainment’s new survival program, that features Team B’s members B.I, Bobby, Kim Jin Hwan, Song Yoon Hyung, Goo Joon Hee, Kim Dong Hyuk, as well as three new trainees who joined through audition competitions. The nine members will be showcasing their skills in a battle for a chance to debut as a part of YG Entertainment’s new boy group iKON.
