Veteran singer/song writer Yoon Jong Shin has released his music video “Grey City” featuring Swings. The music video is inspired by 4:33‘s video game of the same name and it even features clips from the video game shown through the 4 minute and 28 second music video.
The song sounds like a cross between an anime and a spy film which kind of makes sense once you get the jest of the music video and the game that inspired it. Yoon Jong Shin’s voice is deep, soothing while Swings… well he is Swings so he just raps adding a hint of aggression to an otherwise boring song.
That all being said I felt the song was a little disjointed. Like it was 3 or 4 songs mashed together with some random vocals and raps added to it. Separately these elements are fine but the sum of the whole just doesn’t work for me. Yoon Jong Shin sings about a man’s life in his 40’s while in contrast Swings raps about a man in his 20’s.
