As recent sexual assault scandal comes to light, the cancellation of ZEST’s Japanese activities, plans for a new album, and a comeback go into effect. On March 6th, ZEST′s agency, Zenith Media Contents released the confirmation to Newsen , “ZEST was planning on releasing a new album in April, but that has been postponed. An advancement into Japan was also planned, but for the most part, everything has been canceled. Since they are still idols, their image is taking a huge hit.”
Earlier on March 5th, the Gangnam Police Department stated that a young woman in her 20’s made serious accusations against one of the members, claiming that one of members of ZEST has sexually assaulted on more than one occasion. The groups agency told the media that the accusations are nothing more than a vindictive accusation with no weight to it ,“They met a few times with good feelings, but sexual assault is something that couldn′t happen. It most definitely didn′t happen. We even have recorded files of her pressuring the agency. We have records of the phone conversations as well, so if she continues to make false claims, we will reveal them all.”
It’s a good move on the companies part to stay out the media and handle the issue first so that it doesn’t over shadow their music.
