On September 24th, UP10TION released the MV for their title track, ‘Light’. This comes from their associated 9th mini album, ‘Light Up’ which was released at the same time. Check out the MV down below!
UP10TION ‘LIGHT’ MV:
Regarding the lyrics, they describe a guy falling for someone, wanting them to open up their heart and together they can become a light. The track features a rhythmic synth and has a melodic feel with a nice vocal led refrain. The rapping whilst characteristically deeper than the vocal line in tone, still has a lighter sound to blend with the brighter tone of the song.
Moving on to the MV, it primarily has three sets with three sets of attires that show distinct sides of the boy group. The commonality throughout the video is all sets play with different colours and various lighting to create striking effects. The studio sets include a dark room that is only lit with floor and ceiling LEDs, a white corridor like set which lights up in separated sections to give a further sense of depth; and the last set is outside of a primarily white, blue and red dwelling which features the title track’s name and group fandom name (Honey10) on its signage.
Outfits wise, the dark room is complemented with all white outfits, as the white set contrasts itself with all black. The last set then features the black looks in addition to brighter pastel suits with shiny detailing that reflect the light; and matches the vibrant set surrounds.
‘Light Up’ contains six tracks including this title. Many of the songs had penned efforts from members Bitto and Kuhn. This is also their first comeback in over a year since their 8th mini album, ‘The Moment Of Illusion’ (released in August 2019). Although the wait has been long, this comeback only features seven out of the ten members from the group. Member Jinhoo is sitting out due to health concerns; members Jinhyuk and Wooseok have sat out since the group’s previous comeback, promoting solo in the meantime.
UP10TION‘s 9th mini album, ‘Light Up’ featuring the title track, ‘Light’ is available now.
