Im Jaebum (임재범) was born on January 6, 1994 in Goyang, South Korea.
He is the leader, lead singer, lead dancer, one of the songwriters and producers for JYP Entertainment’s boy group GOT7.
As a songwriter and producer he goes by the name Defsoul.
Recently he released some songs on his own Soundcloud in his Defsoul persona.
Before joining GOT7, he and band mate, Jinyoung, was part of the duo JJ Project.
He was also in Dream High 2 before being in GOT7 along with other JYP actors, actresses and Kpop idols.
He and the members of GOT7 stared in the web drama Dream Knight.
They still room together in the same dorm, but he has changed roommates from Youngjae to Jackson due to Jackson’s schedules in China. He would wake Mark up when he would come back to Korea making it hard for Mark to sleep. He said in an interview since he himself had trouble sleeping it just “made since.”
He is a Christian by faith, although he admits to not going to church as often as he would like due to the groups’ hectic schedule.
He has been said to have an idol crush on Girls’Generation Yoona.
He likes traveling, collecting shoes, and taking pictures. He is often accused by members for leaving his shoes all over the dorm.
He can speak some Japanese.
