On September 23rd, H&D released the MV for their title track ‘Umbrella’ which comes off the duo’s special album of the same name. Check out the MV down below!
H&D ‘UMBRELLA’ MV:
The melancholy lyrics reflect someone attempting to get over a break up with the rain pouring out from their heart. The track is a stark contrast from the duo’s previous title with the song embodying a jazzier chill instrumental, perfect for a rainy day. The rougher tones of their vocals and raps stand out from the plainer instrumental, placing all the listener’s attention to them.
The MV surrounds itself around a stage with a circular platform in the middle. A large rain cloud hovers ominously over it. The stage is initially only filled with the two members but soon after a full band support them outside the stage, away from the clouds. As the stage background turns dark, rain in the form of sliver shining streamers fall down as the stage lights up to various hues. By the end of the video, the dark background returns with the reflection of the streamers acting as rain falling to the ground.
‘Umbrella’ contains one other track ‘Come Back’; and it is the final release for the duo before they join their agency’s (Pocketdol Studio) lineup for their new boy group, POCKETDOLZ. The duo were initially formed following the disbandment due to vote rigging allegations of the project group X1, which was formed under Mnet‘s idol survival show ‘Produce X 101’. But in any case, the two members have delivered good music with their time as H&D. The new group have already released teaser pictures, so their debut will be in the imminent future.
H&D‘s special album, ‘Umbrella’ is available now.
