IU has surprised fans with an official announcement regarding a September comeback!
That’s right, IU will be releasing new music this month!
Her agency, Fave Entertainment, broke the news in an official statement saying, “IU will be releasing a remake album entitled ‘Flower Bookmark 2‘ in mid-September.” The company has not nailed down all the details of her release schedule as of yet, but serious discussions surrounding promotional activities are in process with the singer. IU let her fans know about the announcement through Instagram!
‘Flower Bookmark 2‘ will be released almost three and a half years years after IU‘s first remake album, which came out in May 2014. ‘Flower Bookmark‘ is a unique entry in IU‘s discography, as it features the singer’s spin on nostalgic K-POP songs from the 1980s-1990s. The first ‘Flower Bookmark‘ generated two hit singles for the singer in ‘My Old Story‘ and ‘The Meaning of You‘. If ‘Flower Bookmark 2‘ is anything like its predecessor, some Korean classics are about to be re-imagined for a new audience as they get the IU treatment!
‘Flower Bookmark 2‘ is set to be released just five months after the release of IU‘s fourth studio album ‘Palette‘. IU‘s agency said that as the singer’s ninth anniversary of debut occurs in September, ‘Flower Bookmark 2‘ will be something of a gift to her fans. IU has also been confirmed to feature on Epik High‘s next album!
