Get ready to see Jay Park B-boy onto the big screen in “Hype Nation“, Korea’s first ever three-dimensional dance flick after it’s four year hiatus due to the suspension of the production because of a scam. The film had garnered a lot of attention from the press during its production in 2010, especially for it’s all star cast from Korea’s Jay Park as the lead, the top b-boy group Gamblerz, world-renown R&B group B2K and Grammy Award winner, American singer-songwriter Teddy Riley.
The film would have been Jay Park’s comeback since his controversial departure from 2PM which gave the film a lot of recognition and funding due to the high anticipation from the public. The production was put on hold when it was revealed that J.Lee had scammed investors and the production team then fled the country from prosecution.
The film will finally be able to see the light of day after it’s four year hiatus, the credit for the movies revival goes to the combination of minds and the effort between an investor who didn’t want to see the high quality 3-D filming go to waste, and a young director who creatively took the scamming incident and weaved it into the storyline, creating a more in depth story. Aside the rich storyline, “Hype Nation” will showcase to a wider audience Jay Parks b-boying skills and will have a soundtrack filled with various OST with great songs and rhythms.
“Hype Nation” will be in theaters next year on January 16th.
