Dok2 and The Quiett recently made their way to Sydney and Melbourne for their first Australian tour. They performed in Sydney on June 1st and in Melbourne the next day.
The Officially Kmusic Melbourne team had a chance to interview them before their concert at Trak Live Lounge Bar in Melbourne.
The duo established their label Illionaire Records in 2011. The label is home to hip-hop artists like themselves, as well as Beenzino. In the past, they have appeared on Mnet‘s rap competition show ‘Show Me the Money‘ as producers, and they were the winning team behind iKON‘s Bobby on the third season of the show.

During the interview, the duo talked about how they were finding Australia so far and how turned up the Australian crowd was. Dok2 revealed that he had attended an Australian international school in Busan before, so he was already somewhat familiar with the country. He talked about trying kangaroo jerky as well!
Even though they did not mention any specific names, they discussed how they wanted to collaborate with other artists, not just in Korea but also in the United States. They also talked about the importance of their decision to form Illionaire Records. Before taking the stage, they explained about how they feel they differ from other hip-hop artists in the Korean music scene and what their plans are for the rest of the year.
