The man himself, Park Jin Young Park, also known as JYP, has made his recently made his epic comeback, with the first single from his latest mini album, “Halftime.” The album itself marks his 10th solo studio album. He started out in 1992 with the group, Park Jin-Young and the New Generation.
Watch his latest music video, “Had Enough Parties” here:
J.Y.P first appears in a salon chair, discussing the meaning of life with his stylist, and turns moments later only to see that he is alone, and his stylist has just arrived.
Then he appears in a club, walking through a crowed with a bottle of wine in hand, kissing a random woman and walking onstage. The video shoots back and forth, between JYP now, and three different future versions of himself.
In one version, he is still at the the club and women are all around him, but he switches back and forth between young and old in this scene. In the second version, he is homeless and distraught. In the third version, he is in his backyard, being visited by his children and grandchild.
The song speaks about being tired of partying. He’s worked his life away, and frivolously spent his money, being with all these women just doesn’t make him feel whole. He’s tired of feeling empty, and wants to love and be loved the right way.
The overall feel of the song and choreography go hand in hand. Its smooth and soulful, with fluid movements. JYP and his backup dancers move as one, making the whole performance cohesive.
