Lizzy of After School and Orange Caramel fame talks trot, working with Jung Hyung Don, speaking in Busan dialect and #twangLizzy, her exaggerated way of speaking, in 1theK‘s interview series #hashtag. The stars choose specific hashtags about a topic they want to talk about, and the questions from 1theK and fans center around those hashtags. It’s a great way for interviews to be naturally guided by the K-Pop stars themselves, so they can avoid certain topics and answer different, more unusual questions.
One of my favorite moments from this interview is when the fans requested for Lizzy to sing certain songs in Trot styles. She sings lines from Apink’s “Mr. Chu,” “Boy in Luv” by BTS, and “Some” by SoYou and Junggigo. I thought that was a really creative way to show off her Trot singing skills. She also showed the differences in her acting for After School, Orange Caramel, and solo, which I thought was really interesting.
Please check out the interview (which has English subs in the CC section of YouTube) and support her new Trot comeback “Not an Easy Girl!”
