The South Korean Ministry of National Defense has decided to abolish the celebrity soldier recruit for the National Defense Public Relations Support Unit because of the controversy over the military leniency toward celebrity soldiers serving in the army. Also, those soldiers who are currently serving in the unit will be relocated to different field and service units.

From this controversy, eight soldiers will be disciplined including Se7en and Sangchu, with seven out of those eight receiving severe disciplinary action. On the 1st of August, all 15 soldiers in the unit will be relocated to different units.
The current soldiers in the PR unit are singers Se7en, Might Mought’s Sangchu, Super Junior‘s Leeteuk, SG Wannabe‘s Lee Suk Hoon, M Signal‘s Gunwoo, Mate‘s Jung Jun II, The Cross‘ Kim Kyung Hyun, KCM, and Lee Hyuk Ki, musical actor Kim Ho Young, and actors Ryu Sang Wook, Kim Mu Yeol, Lee Joon Hyuk, Choi Jae Hwan and comedian Kim Min Soo.
