It’s a fabulous season for Korean music fans as for numerous new groups bloom into the scene and the existing groups return with all new colors. Rising competition between new releases and the never ending comebacks is nothing to take for granted.
We, Officially Kmusic, have chosen the top fabulous 10 releases out of the latest releases of the month of June for Week 3. Check it out!
– No.10: 10cm with ‘I Really Like You”
10 cm (십센치) is a South Korean Indie band. The band has two male members, Kwon Jung Yeol and Yoon Cheol Jong. ‘I Really Like You’ is their latest release and it’s their remake of a classic Jewelry song.
-No.9: VOISPER with ‘Summer Cold‘
Rookie boy group, VOISPER, have finally released their second single only a few months after their debut. The group, which debuted with ‘In Your Voice‘ in March and was an instant success, have now brought us a summer song called ‘Summer Cold‘. The song is a ballad about a guy who’s having a lot of trouble overcoming a break-up. The title means that a break-up is like a cold that you catch in the summer.
-No.8: Gray & Loco ft. ELO with ‘Good‘
AOMG‘s Power Couple is back at it again! Gray & Loco has dropped their latest music video featuring ELO, their adventures in New York City allows us see what they are up to this time around. In the music video, they are seen helping their mysterious but attractive friend, get over his ex girlfriend. Walking with swag but still being good friends and playing around. Read more here.
-No.7: BoA & Beenzino with ‘No Matter What‘
BoA and Beenzino‘s collaboration track for ‘No Matter What‘ is of an upbeat house and electronica mix whose beat is livens up the mood. This type of genre hasn’t been explored much by BoA, but she seems to make it work. Rapper Beenzino drops a couple of dope lines, sparking up the track with his sharp rhymes.
-No.6: SEVENTEEN with ‘Love Letter‘
The boys of SEVENTEEN finished up promotions for their last comeback ‘Pretty U‘ and with news of a repackaged album just around the corner, the music video for ‘Love Letter‘ was a surprised release. The video is nothing short of breath-taking from the adorable and hilarious antics of the members, to the powerful and moving vocals. Read more here.
-No.5: Younha ft.HA:TFELT & Cheetah with ‘Get It‘
Younha is back with an epic collaboration track featuring HA:TFELT (Wonder Girls‘s Yeeun) and rapper Cheetah! This is the first time the three talented artists’ have teamed up for a release. The music video shows the three girl crushes plotting their revenge on a plastic male mannequin, sending out a message that they’re done with players.
-No.4: BADA ft. Kanto with ‘Flower‘
BADA makes her return to the music scene with ‘Flower‘ featuring Kanto and an album with the same name. BADA is currently preparing a thank you project for her fans, celebrating her 20th anniversary since debut. The album (Flower) is the first album that will start the three projects that she plans to show in the future. In this album, she has selected a new genre that people couldn’t see before. This time the listeners will be able to hear a more attractive sound without her powerful and energetic image that the listeners are used to.
-No. 3: Wheesung ft. EXID‘s LE with ‘Hold Over‘
Wheesung‘s latest music video featuring EXID‘s LE shows two sides of him, one is a loser and party creeper and the other is a completely lady killer. The music video is bright and buoyant, which is a type of genre that we don’t see much of by Wheesung.
-No.2: DIA with ‘On The Road‘
Rookie girl group DIA just made their comeback with the 2nd mini album ‘Happy Ending’. The title track of the album is ‘On The Road’. The girls have returned for the first time in eight months; their bright concept made the summer even more beautiful than before. Their delightful youth is well portrayed as the girls take you through the wonderful moments in the music video. Read more here.
-No.1: San E & Raina with ‘Sugar and Me‘
Previously, San E and After School‘s Raina had collaborated for ‘A Midsummer Night’s Sweetness‘, which was about a couple ready to dive into love. ‘Sugar and Me‘ is a continuation of the couple’s story since it is about the sweetness of a blossoming relationship. San E‘s playful rap meshes perfectly with Raina‘s delicate and pure vocals. The song is perfect for summer since it is a time for fun, love, and ice cream! Read more here.
