After a whole year of Japanese promotions, CNBLUE is finally back with their 5th Mini Album, “Can’t Stop“.
The first thing about this new album is that it’s completely different from CNBLUE’s usual style, whether this is a good or a bad thing. The whole album, especially the title song “Can’t Stop” has a more Ft. Island vibe with a piano and many orchestral instruments. Still, they can keep their image very well and it’s cool to see some style changes sometimes.
“Can’t Stop“, the title track is a very dramatic song that goes from a soft ballad to a vivid rock song. The guys are singing very well and we can even listen to Yonghwa playing the piano very well. The lyrics, composed by Yonghwa are also very deep, so fans can relate to them very well.
“Diamond Girl” has a faster tempo and it’s the most similar to CNBLUE’s style. They added some trumpets to the usual rock instruments, which turned out really well. At the same time, “Cold Love” and “Love Is…” are very sad songs that can bring tears to your eyes. In “Cold Love”, specifically, the guitar is truly something, as expected from CNBLUE.
“Sleepless Night” would totally fit in a drama OST. The piano is very smooth and their voices are very pleasuarable to hear. The chorus totally makes you think of a dramatic love scene that you would watch with tears in your eyes. The last song, “Like a Child” has a very different style and it’s definitely the song in which their voices sound the best, especially in the chorus.
