Super Junior have made a successful comeback with their eighth album ‘PLAY‘ and the title track ‘Black Suit’.
It’s been over two years since their last comeback, and thankfully, the new music is worth the wait!
‘Black Suit’ is a track that combines all that is great about Super Junior of the past and modern influences they have picked up along the way. It drives forward with an infectious energy and a driving bass that builds throughout the song. This is a song that pays tribute to the great K-pop tunes of the past but doesn’t jump on board with the current trend bandwagon.
The track has a direct tongue-in-cheek reference to Super Junior tracks of old, yet is dynamic in its arrangement which gives it a fresh new sound. Yesung’s vocals are a standout, and he is given the opportunity to shine on this track without dimming the spotlight which shines on all members.
In the accompanying MV, the members are planning a heist of the ‘Black Suit’ at an auction to which they are all playing a part. However, there’s an unexpected turn of events which throws their plans into disarray!
