Whenever you see idols doing good deeds like charity work, it seems as though it usually involves acts such as helping the less fortunate, but how often do you hear about celebrities turning into superheroes to catch a hit and run drunk driver?
Sweet Sorrow’s In Ho-Jin and his manager, Kim Sung-hyun, did just that on February 19th. In reports posted by Yonhap, the singer and his manager were on their way to film an OST after completing their shoot for an upcoming episode of MBC’s “I Am a Singer 3.” While driving, they passed a married couple in their 50’s in distress after being hit by a KIA Pride on a crosswalk at 12:37 a.m, according to the Seoul Seocho Police.
After seeing the couple they saw the assailant, and quickly turned their van around to chase the driver who still proceeded to drive 700 meters at 31MPH after hitting the couple. They were able to catch up the driver and block him head on at a red light. After they called the police, they then followed them to the police station to give their eyewitness accounts, and stood there until 2 am. The Seoul Seocho Police revealed the assailant by the surname Kwon, and he failed the alcohol test and tested at a blood alcohol content of 0.166 percent at the time of the crash. In Mr.Kwon’s defense, he had no idea he was involved in a hit and run but in fact thought he hit trash bags rather than people. The singer kept close to the couple and wished them a speedy recovery. The husband sustained a head injury and his wife has a serious leg injury, but over all are ok, and better yet, alive.
What do you think of the heroic acts of In Ho-Jin and Kim Sung-hyun? It’s nice to hear of some good done in the world for a change. Stay tuned here for more updates and all the latest news!
