Amidst the rising concern that China is planning to force a plausible statewide ban on Korean entertainment contents, it was reported that Korean Chinese romantic comedy film titled “Unexpected Love” is reported to be released in the Chinese market.
According to Edaily’s reports, China’s General Office of Broadcasting and Television recently granted permission to release “Unexpected Love” in Autumn of this year at the earliest.
This good news came after the unfortunate news disclosing that Chinese television drama featuring F(x)‘s Krystal and Chinese actor Deng Lun titled “Graduation Season” had been banned from airing in China. In the drama, Krystal plays the role of Ye Ran, who is an independent fashion designer and the breadwinner in the family.
“Unexpected Love” costars EXO‘s Lay and F(x)‘s Krystal and focuses on the growing relationship between artists from China and Korea through dance. The film is a collaborative project that features both Chinese and Korean actors and actresses.
According to a SM Entertainment representative, “The film’s success is much anticipated by investors, as the two stars, Lay and Krystal, are immensely popular in the country. Additionally, Lay and Krystal were both casted in the film due to their impressive dancing skills and prior acting experience.”
The film also stars UNIQ‘s Wang Yibo and “Please Come Back, Mister” actor Park In Hwan. “Unexpected Love” will be directed by Korean filmmaker, Seong Si Heup.
