On August 30th, a YG Entertainment insider told OSEN about CEO Yang Hyun Suk’s end of the year plans:
“YG Entertainment’s CEO Yang Hyun Suk will be taking the initiative for YG’s unprecedented success for the second half of this year, saying we should pour all our power and capabilities in the second half of this year, to carry out as many projects of YG artists as possible, for the sake of fans.”
So many things are planned to take place before the end of the year. BLACKPINK were the first on this list to lead the end of the year surplus of new music from the label. As planned, BLACKPINK will also continue their debut with two new music videos.
Following in their footsteps will be iKON‘s Bobby with his solo debut. This is said to be a result of his victory on “Show Me The Money 3.” Next on the list will be WINNER‘s Mino, who will also be making his solo debut. iKON‘s Bobby and WINNER‘s Mino will also be joining forces for a unit album.
Both iKON and WINNER are set to release new albums.
BIGBANG are also said to release their much anticipated ‘MADE‘ album which fans have been long awaiting for.
As stated earlier this year, sibling duo AKMU is set to release a new album.
PSY, Epik High, and Lee Hi are also reported to be releasing new music before the end of the year.
Whilst this is not set in stone, YG Entertainment has been promoting a solo release for iKON‘s Bobby and WINNER‘s Mino for September. So far, reports seem to be true in regards to the planned mass promotion of multiple YG artists.
Will this be the first time fans can look forward to so many of their favorites releasing new music or will we have to wait a little longer? Let us know what you think about these plans in the comments below.
