It seems that duo 2BiC is trying their hand at some solo projects, and member Junhyung is the first to strut his stuff! On March 10th, the singer released the music video for “Bye Bye Bye,” the title song from his new album of the same name. If this song is any indication as to what we can look forward to out of the rest of the album, then folks, we are in for a real treat.
“Bye Bye Bye” is a song about love and loss, and how it feels to say farewell to the one you once loved. The pain is evident in the way Junhyung sings, and the song itself has a lilting, upbeat ballad feel to it. When the climax hits, it packs a powerful punch, then just drives forward from there with a lot of emotion seeping into his delivery. The music video itself chronicles some behind the scenes footage of Junhyung getting ready for a photo shoot, as well as throughout the shoot itself. The video comes to close with the words “Annyeong, annyeong, annyeong,” (bye, bye, bye) sung at a near-whisper, along with black and white shots of the singer. It’s quite powerful, if you ask me.
Fellow member Jihwan also makes an appearance, in the video, so be on the lookout. Frankly, Jihwan’s is the voice that has always stood out most for me out of the two of them, so I’m pleasantly surprised with this opportunity to hear Junhyung alone. He’s impressing me a lot so far, and I’m looking forward to hearing the full album.
