Are you ready for a revolution? Boys Republic are as they come back with their third mini album ‘[BR:evolution]’. The five track extended play is grittier than their past releases, especially since their last comeback was a sweet boyfriend look with ‘Hello’ last summer.
‘Get Down’ is a rock anthem with incredible harmonies and a chorus that definitely gets stuck in your head. The music video is dark and filled with apocalyptic themes including some mature war-like themes. Boys Republic show off their sensual dance moves that the Royal Family loves to watch.
The rest of the album is amazing with ‘지켜만 봐 (Eyes On Me)’, and ‘V.I.P’ keeping with the rock pop sound while ‘널 위했던 노래 (Song For You)’ slows things down a bit as Onejunn sings a beautiful ballad.
This comeback blew me away. The styling of Minsu, Sunwoo, Suwoong, Sungjun, and Onejunn is incredible, the music is killer, and the dancing is on point as always. Certainly a complete 180 degree change from their last single but Boys Republic has proven they can pull off anything. I look forward to even more to come with this group under Happy Tribe Entertainment.
