Unfortunate news for Black Eyed Peas fans, but a celebratory occasion for K-Pop fans and Blackjacks alike. It looks like CL will be temporarily taking Fergie‘s place in the Black Eyed Peas’ upcoming album.
A few weeks ago, will.i.am confirmed that the group would be out with a new album in a few months in celebration of their 20th anniversary, and shortly after that, Fergie added that she was going to focus on her new solo album rather than participate this time around in the Black Eyed Peas’ music, saying, “I was just in the studio last week and I saw Taboo there, and I heard something Will was doing and it was great but maybe the guys are doing something? I haven’t been in the group for 20 years, so it’s more their anniversary of being together for 20 years. So maybe they’re putting out an album themselves.”
In her place, the group decided to choose CL. will.i.am tweeted her about a week ago and asked her to collaborate with him to which she replied with, “Yay! Let’s go!”
This is not the first time that he and CL, along with the rest of 2NE1 have collaborated together, an example being #willpower‘s “Gettin’ Dumb” and with CL working in the US on her first solo album, the timing couldn’t be more perfect.
Let’s look forward to this collaboration and to what ever else CL has in store for us this coming year!
