Back in 2009, a taxi driver set up some equipment with cameras and gadgets and started to do live broadcasts to his passengers.
He would sing along with the passengers and even give them advice. The driver has gotten a lot of attention when IU had entered his cab they sang a song in 2010.
The taxi driver was on SBS‘s ‘Dalgona‘ on July of 2011 when he told about his little meet with IU and said, “I didn’t know it was IU who had entered the taxi and asked her to sing IU and Seulong‘s ‘Nagging,’ only then to find out my passenger was IU. I was very surprised and felt like I had won the lottery.”
Afterwards, he had received an invitation IU’s concert and was also on KBS2‘s ‘Quiz Show.’
Nevertheless, two people had filed a lawsuit against the taxi driver for violating their rights and they said, “Since he asked about our jobs and marriage plans, we only replied, but he had broadcast everything without our consent. I didn’t know he was doing a live broadcast until I left the car.”
The driver responded to them, “Regardless of whether it was wrong that I didn’t tell them beforehand, the content was not stored as it was a live broadcast and some parts of the content were not delivered because the internet connection got disconnected.”
However, just today, a judge had given him probation for 2 years and cannot work as a taxi driver for 6 months because of the fact that he was releasing tapes of people without their permission.
What do you guys think about this?
