After waiting more than three long years, the K-Pop legends BigBang, are finally back with not one but two music videos! The two videos are for double-title tracks ‘Loser’ and ‘BaeBae’ from their comeback project, MADE Series.
The MADE Series is going to be split in 5 different parts, M, A, D, E, with each section being released a month apart. after the E part is released on August 1st, the boys will then release their full length album MADE in September.
These two tracks are even more special to VIP‘s because Taeyang, TOP and G-Dragon had a hand in composing and producing alongside YG‘s most well-known producer Teddy.
No need to wait any longer though, here is ‘Loser’:
The music video and song tells a story of the different experiences a man can go through in his life when he is stuck and can’t find his way out; a man who is lost in this world and just wants to find his own purpose, do something different but he somehow doesn’t know how; about a man who wears a mask in order to protect himself from others; and a man who is lost in one night-stand relationships and just wants to stop. This track reminds us of old Big Bang from “HaruHaru” era, the emotions, the beat, the melody are just amazing. The lyrics really hammer this point home:
GD: “Honestly, I’ve never fitted in the world
To me who was alone, love was already forgotten
Love, to me who was alone, was already long forgotten at that time”
Taeyang: “At some point
I started to look at the ground more than the sky
It’s hard to even breathe
I reach out my hand
But no one grabs it”
TOP: “Repeated mistakes with women
Loved for one night but gets tired of it when the sun rises
My selfish pleasure that wasn’t responsible
Sometimes a feeling of everything being ruined”
Daesung: “At some point
I started to fear people staring at me
I’m sick of even crying
But no one even cares about me”
The second track “BaeBae” is 180 degrees from the first track! It reminds us why Big Bang is and will be always the legends of K-Pop.
This cheesy song and trippy music video is one that only the ones who have been in K-Pop for a while now will understand. It is a kind of art that only Big Bang can create.
For example this: “Like rice cakes, like rice cakes
Our chemistry, our chemistry”
Maybe you do know or maybe you don’t but “making rice cakes” in Korean can be a slang for sex which clears up any confusion about the subject matter of this song. Though with that imagery, you likely weren’t confused at all. This is a ‘baby making song‘ to quote someone on our staff.
