Expert girl-group SunnyHill are back with their second release of the summer! Only a few short weeks ago, they released the dreamy summer song “Once In Summer” and now they’re back with a different sound in their upbeat newest release, “Monday Blues“! When the first video teaser came out, there was some discussion among netizens about the perceived similarities between the setting and Super Junior M‘s “Swing” as well as some question if the song would be as unique as the earlier SunnyHill songs. While it is true that some of the whimsy of their earlier works have been lost, the song is very good and is a stand-out among the summer’s releases.
The video is quirky and eye-catching with the brightly colored office and the gorgeous members of SunnyHill going about their business. Not that business is very business-like, I’m fairly confident no actual work is getting done. The song is catchy and upbeat, perfect for this time of year.
What did you think of the video? I really liked it, I have recently discovered my love for SunnyHill. I can see how some people could think that there is a lack of originality and uniqueness in this release, but for me I find that to be not true. No one could have done this song in the same way SunnyHill did and that is what every artist strives for. I also don’t see much similarity between this and “Swing” aside from the office setting and the starting off black and white clothes. Do you agree? Let us know in the comments!
