New year, new month and new dramas that will start airing in a few days! I’m sure that January will be a very good month for every k-drama addict.
1. Third Generation Noodle House – directed by Joo Seung Woo (‘Hooray For Love’, ‘Golden Fish’), the drama will start its airing on January 5th. The story revolves around a household that’s been running a noodle house for three generations. Lee Jeong Jin (‘Wonderful Radio’, ‘Fugitive Plan B’), Eugene (‘Baker King Kim Tak Gu’, ‘Ooh La La Couple’) and Choi Won Yeong (‘Confession of Murderer’, ‘Hurricane Couple’) were casted for ‘Third Generation Noodle House’.
2. Flower Boy Next Door – starring such big names as Park Sin Hye (‘You’re Beautiful, ‘Heartstring’) and Yun Si Yun (‘Baker King Kim Tak Gu’, ‘I’m Flower, Too!’). The drama is based on the popular webtoon ‘I Sneak a Peek at Him Everyday‘ and unravels the modern day person’s mentality to peek. Directed by Jeong Jeong Hwa (‘Flower Boy Ramyun Shop’, ‘Lost and Found’) and written by Kim Eun Jeong (‘Coffee’, ‘Hello, Brother’), the drama will begin airing on January 7th.
3. TV Novel Sam Seng – planned for January 7th, the drama tells the story of a woman who renamed herself Sam Seng after she almost died. She then becames a true physician. Starring Hong Ah Reum (‘God of War’, ‘Rock Rock Rock’) and Ji Il Woo (‘Golden Time’, ‘Monster’), the drama was directed by Kim Wong Yong (‘The Iron Empress’, ‘Powerful Opponents’).
4. Queen of Ambition – an upcoming drama based on Park In Kwon’s manhwa. It tells the tale of an ambitious woman Yoon Na Ri (played by Soo Ae known for roles in ‘Athena’ and ‘Once in a Summer‘) who is determined to become the First Lady, and a hopeless romantic Choe Kang Chan (played by Kwon Sang Woo – ’71:Into the Fire’, ‘Cinderella Man’). Great news for TVXQ‘s fans – U-Know Yunho took role of Baek Do Hoon!
The drama is directed by Jo Nam Guk (‘The Chaser’) and Jo Yeong Gwang (’49 Days’). Lee Hui Myeong (‘Rooftop Prince’, ‘Bad Family’) was in charge of screenplay. The drama will start its airing on January 14th.
5. My Girlfriend is an Agent – based on popular movie with the same title, the drama is starring amazing Choi Kang Hee (‘Protect the Boss’, ‘Petty Romance’) and Joo Won (‘Bridal Mask’, ‘Baker King Kim Tak Gu’). If you had fun while watching the original movie, you will also like the upcoming drama as the same screenwriter (Cheon Seong Il) was involved in its production. First episode of the drama will be airied on January 16th.
