T-ARA has made plans to expand its activities all the way to China! On the 5th of September, the group’s agency and Chinese entertainment agency Longzhen Cultural Development carried out a signing event which was attended by the CEOs of both companies as well as the members of T-ARA.
Longzhen is an agency that hosted the concerts of Asian singers like Andy Lau, Jacky Cheung, A-mei, and many more. Because T-ARA has been gaining popularity in China, they were offered 5 billion Korean won (KRW) for the contract, with the prediction that they will raise the profit to over 16.5 billion KRW. The group’s popularity in China is showcased by many of their music videos being ranked #1 on China’s music video site YinYueTai and the girls recently won the 2014 Mwave K-pop Star Championship trophy which raked in votes from countries like the United States, China, Japan, and more.
An official signing event and press conference is to be held on October 13th in Shinsegae Hotel in Beijing which will lead into T-ARA officially launching Chinese promotions. Their promotions will appear on some of China’s best programs and expand activities to things like dramas, commercials, concerts, and more. They are the first K-Pop girl group to sign with a Chinese agency.
Longzhen shared that it will be making contributions for the development of Hallyu culture in China and along with T-ARA, will open a new door to Korea-China cultural communication.
