Taemin is pulling out all of the stops for his solo debut “ACE“! His first release, the pre-release if you will, was ‘Ace‘ and the only video it has was a compilation of behind-the-scenes footage from the debut of SHINee up until now (We talked about this video here in case you missed it). Now, after he’s done so well with fans and on music shows with “Danger,” Taemin has participated in the new SM Entertainment creative endeavor called BeatBurger Project!
Not too long ago, Taemin released a dance rehearsal for “Danger” and it left me underwhelmed. I know that is a controversial opinion, but I stand by it. This video showcases his dance talents much better than that video and that should make fans very happy. Everyone knows that Taemin is easily one of the best dancers in K-Pop, if not the best, so seeing him really show off his skills is a treat.
I really wish this had been the video for “Ace” and not the behind-the-scenes version we were given. I also feel like this video was the only really good video from this promotional run. “Danger” is good enough video but it’s just not as good as this to me. I think that my dislike of the choreo combined with my intense hatred of that fake nose piercing could be coloring my judgement though. I own this album and I love every song on it so this is not commentary of my love of Taemin, just commentary of the choices made by his management team in regards to this videos and styling.
I’m actually excited by this BeatBurger Project. Super Junior‘s Eunhyuk participated not long ago with a strong dance routine that we talked about in this article. They keep saying that more videos are coming and I for one can’t wait!
