VIXX have been busy preparing for their comeback with “Error“, their 2nd mini album that has a unique concept. Their teaser images included puzzles and cyborg-like images of each of the members.
With the release of the full music video on the 13th, we can finally enjoy the full version of “Error” as well as take a look at how VIXX has matured in their concepts.
As a fellow writer stated, this music video showcases “VIXX 3.0; they’ve grown, but it still has that VIXX sound to it”, and I could not agree more.
This is by far my favorite VIXX music video. It’s not only creative and visually appealing, it also has a good story line that should be easy to follow.
In the music video, we can see Hongbin trying to bring his girlfriend, played by KARA‘s Youngji, back to life by turning her into a cyborg. I don’t want to spoil the rest of the video for those of you who haven’t seen it yet so I won’t say anymore about the plot.
It seems VIXX loves sticking to the dark, supernatural concepts and it works so well for them. From “On & On” to “Hyde” and now “Error”, they’re constantly evolving into some weird creature or another and I love to see which concept they’ll try next.
Not only was the acting and story line of the music video good, I have to give a round of applause to the film director, special effects coordinator, and make-up artists. They really look like cyborgs and the scenes where it’s just the members’ heads on pieces of robot bodies were well done and so cool to see. Sometimes when music videos try to do special effects like this, it just turns out awkward or unrealistic but not in this video.
I also have to commend Hongbin‘s acting. He played the part of a grief-stricken boyfriend very well. If it wasn’t for the fact that he was also a cyborg, I would’ve found him turning his dead girlfriend into one a little too weird.
The song and what we could see of the dance was just as amazing as the video itself. VIXX always showcase such interesting dances where they utilize every member in very unique ways. If they keep this up, they’ll have to be counted among the best dancers in K-Pop.
Beautifully done VIXX. I am looking forward to your comeback stages. Who else loved this music video? And any comments about the video or concept in general? Did you like it? Hate it? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
