A while back Wa$$up released the music video for their latest track “Nom Nom Nom.”
After their much talked about debut Wa$$up are returning with a slightly less controversial dance and song. Their debut had most of the Kpop world talking because the girls promoted themselves as “Twerking Idols.” Twerking, a dance craze in the States and other places has not seen much popularity in the Kpop music industry. And opinions were split if it should stay that way. But if their debut song had you on the fence their follow up track could have you jumping to their side!
With a Swedish drum sound and Wa$$up’s own style of rapping the song “Nom Nom Nom” has a great hip hop feel to it. The girls, Jiae, Nada, Sujin, Jinju, Nari, Dain, and Woojoo, play Chinese jump rope and watch some guys play, ddakji, a popular Korean game. The guys even use a humongous Wa$$up paper disk to play! Since the song is all about girls playing, the video really suits. The lyrics seem to encourage girls to have fun when they go out because “If you spend the night being shy, time’s up“.
