Wonder Girls Will Rock The World Again This August

Once again, the world will witness one of the most anticipated comebacks this year. And it will be the one of the K-pop groups the world loves, one we thought we’d never see again. It is no other than the sensational K-pop girl group – Wonder Girls. 

According to recent media reports, the group’s management agency JYP Entertainment told the media that Wonder Girls will have their comeback stage sometime in August after a 3 year hiatus.However, they are not a dance group anymore, but rather, a band.

This sudden shift of members and style gave netizens mixed feelings and conflicting reactions to the changes.

According to JYP Entertainment, the new line-up will be comprised of the following members – Park Ye-eun/Yenny on keyboard, Kim Yubin on drums. and Lee Sunmi, on bass guitar and the fourth member will be Woo Hyelim on lead guitar.

JYP Entertainment added, “Wonder Girls is a nine-year-old idol group. They have been active for a long time and have participated in diverse activities during that time. They discussed that they wanted to show a new side, that it′s time they tried reinventing themselves musically and began preparing to come back as a band.”

The last performance by the group was in 2013 after one of its member, leader Min Sun-ye got married, and Ahn So-hee left the group in 2014 after her contract with JYP Entertainment expired and focused on her solo activities.

In addition to this, JYP Entertainment also mentioned that Wonder Girls already started filming their new music video for its upcoming single release.

Wonder Girls is considered one of the successful K-pop groups that rocked not only the hearts of fans in Asia, but also in the US, making history as the only K-pop girl group to ever land in Billboard‘s Hot 100 with their song ‘Nobody’ ranking 79 in year 2009.
