BTS are charting globally!
BTS‘ new album ‘Love Yourself: 承 Her‘ has been making waves in the international music scene, debuting at number 7 on the Billboard Hot 200 albums chart, and title song ‘DNA‘ taking out 85th spot on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart! Now they’re making a name for themselves in the Australian music scene too, with ‘Love Yourself: 承 Her‘ debuting at number 8 on the ARIA Albums Chart!
ARIA is the Australian Recording Industry Association, and its charts are regularly dominated by global stars. The appearance of ‘Love Yourself: 承 Her‘ on the chart marks BTS‘ ARIA chart debut, despite the group having seven number one titles on South Korean album charts.
BTS appears on the ARIA Album Chart alongside internationally recognised names such as The Foo Fighters, Ed Sheeran, and Adele. A predominantly Korean-language album ranking so highly on this chart is no mean feat, with only Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee‘s track ‘Despacito‘ and PSY‘s ‘Gangnam Style‘ being the only foreign language tracks to take out the top spot on the ARIA Singles Chart in the last decade.
More than a week after the release of ‘Love Yourself: 承 Her‘, BTS continue to go from strength to strength on a global scale. How long do you think they can maintain their hard-won positions on global charts for?
