It’s official ARMYs!
BTS have broken yet another record with their newest title track ‘DNA‘ set to debut at number 85 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart!
Earlier we reported that the seven member group’s latest album ‘Love Yourself: 承 Her‘ made its debut on the Billboard 200 album chart at number 7. The chart combines streaming data, sales and radio plays to determine its rankings. According to Billboard‘s official data ‘DNA‘ was streamed 5.3 million times in the first week after release in the US alone and has sold 14,000 downloads, which also sees the track debut at number 37 on the Digital Songs Chart.

With ‘DNA‘ appearing on the Hot 100 songs chart, BTS becomes the first K-pop group to have a Korean-language song make the list! Soloist PSY made the list with ‘Gangnam Style‘ back in 2012 and ‘Daddy‘ in 2015. CL and the Wonder Girls have both charted with ‘Lifted‘ and ‘Nobody‘ respectively, but these songs were predominantly sung in English, leaving the path clear for BTS to add another record to their already impressive list!
As BTS have gained international attention, their more recent comebacks have seen them come increasingly close to securing a spot on the Hot 100 songs chart. The group’s February comeback track ‘Spring Day‘ peaked at number 15 on the Hot 100’s Bubbling Under chart, meaning that BTS was just outside the chart.
BTS continue to go from strength to strength in the international market, suggesting that a more globally inclusive era of music could be just around the corner!
