Get To Know The Members Of Upcoming Hip-Hop Group The Ark

Have you heard about The Ark? They are a rookie five-member hip-hop girl group that will soon debut under Music K Entertainment (Keyeast) and it’s full of already known faces!

In order to introduce you to all of them, we’re here to present you the member’s profiles. Check them out:

Kim Yuna (Euna Kim):

Yes, this is the Kim Yuna you’re thinking of. YG Entertainment has been keeping in secret the members of their upcoming girl group Pink Punk, but fans have managed to discovered some of them. One of the probable members was a trainee named Kim Yuna (or Euna Kim), but she left YG for unknown reasons.

Born in 1994 in New York, Yuna has many amazing talents. Apart from being a YG trainee, she had already passed JYP Entertainment’s first round of audition and had been a contestant of “Superstar K3“. She had her solo debut in the middle of 2014 under her current company, with the music video for “Without You Now” that featured MFBTY. Check it out:

Jeon Minju:

Here’s another amazing well-known star. Minju was a contestant on the second season of “K-POP STAR“, through which she became known as “Little BoA“.

Also born in 1994, she debuted in the middle of 2014 with “Good Bye Rain“, a music video in which she did look a lot like BoA. The song features her label and now group mate Yuna Kim and Bromance‘s Hyunkyu. Check it out:

Halla:

Halla was born in 1998 in Daegu. She studies at Hanlim Art High School and is majoring in Performing Arts. Her name means “seize the galaxy”. Beautiful, right?

She will be the group’s visual, and has already started her acting career by appearing in Hong Jin Young‘s music video for “Cheer Up“, in which she has proved to be extremely talented for such a young girl. Check it out:

Jane:

Jane (Korean name:  Cheon Jaein), born in 1999, is the maknae of the group. She has already proved her talents by participating in “The Voice Kids” in 2013. Check out one of her amazing performances (she’s the second one to sing):

Yoojin:

Born in 1996 with a groovy and powerful voice, Yoojin will be the group’s main vocalist. She’s a former trainee from PowerVocal and has already released many pre-debut covers. Check out one of them here:

Music K has addressed to the girls as a group that will be different from everything we’ve seen in K-Pop so far, saying

“THE ARK is definitely different from the girl groups today. THE ARK hopes to portray their powerful and unique colors on their own. Uniqueness is THE ARK’s hidden weapon.”

Their name and logo were inspired by the famous French heroine Joan of Arc, giving the girls a powerful background ahead of their debut. The Ark recently revealed a dance cover of BTS‘s “Boy In Luv” that was praised even by the boys themselves.
