Two months ago, Infinite’s member Hoya opened his own personal YouTube account in which he uploads covers of different songs. In the past, he has uploaded covers of Zion-T’s ‘Kiss Me’ and Ariana Grande’s ‘Problem.’ On November 18th, he released his newest cover of ‘Real Love’ originally by Crucial Star. In the description of the video he states “Vocal HOYA, Rap HOYA” indicating that he composed the rap himself.
Being pinned the rapper in his group, he never really has the chance to show his vocals off. With this YouTube channel, he can fully show his true vocals, and that he can be also be called a vocalist. Let’s check out his cover below!
Hoya shows his talent as a multi-talented performer in this video. The video itself is a contrast from what he has done before as a member of Infinite. He’s alone in a recording studio, and is singing a solo with emotion that is typically not found in Infinite’s upbeat music.
The lyrics that he puts so much emotion into state “You shine more without me, if you’re okay with someone like me, then I’ll try,” making fans swoon at his voice. The atmosphere of the song and video is a complete turnaround from what his fans are used to coming from their manly rapper Hoya.
