With the sad news of Nam Taehyun’s departure from WINNER, fans have been waiting to hear from the member himself. Announced a few months ago, YG Entertainment said that Taehyun was going to stay with his mom while he tried to focus on his battle with mental illness. Since then, it has been a waiting game on word from the singer himself. On November 26th, Taehyun posted a handwritten letter to his Instagram account, addressing his worrying fans.

The translation:
Hello. This is Nam Tae Hyun. I am sorry that this unfortunate news was received by people who love me. There were a lot of events during that short or long time. I was really happy when I received undeserved love as WINNER’s Nam Tae Hyun. Although this decision was made after a long discussion, my wish to make good music has not changed and I will meet you through other music and projects. Stay healthy in this cold weather and I genuinely thank everyone who is supporting me.

While it’s been a sad few days for INCLES, as well as fans of YG Entertainment groups in general, it’s only right Taehyun take time to focus on his health. Officially KMUSIC wishes Taehyun great success in all he goes on to do in the future. We also wish him the best in his recovery process, and will support him and WINNER with whatever they choose to do as a group, or solo.
