Well it looks like Red Velvet is now a five member group with the addition of Yeri.
On the 11th, SM Entertainment released an introduction video for Yeri. Red Velvet’s newest member, who is part of SM Rookies and was cast into SM back in 2011, is only 16 years old, making her the maknae of the group now.
And the news of another member being added couldn’t have come at a better time because Red Velvet is currently preparing for a comeback on the 18th with their first album “Ice Cream Cake“!

After the fans heard about Yeri joining, she posted a message on the SM Rookies site.
“Was everyone surprised at this sudden greeting as a Red Velvet and SM Rookies member? I am practicing every day with the unnies. I′ll be sure to show good sides to me, Yeri, so please send a lot of interest and love.”

On the 12th, SM released a second introduction video, but this time, the other four members of Red Velvet introduced Yeri to fans in an excited manner.
With a group name like Red Velvet releasing an album called “Ice Cream Cake”, there’s bound to be plenty of puns coming our way so stay tuned for those and releases concerning the girls’ comeback in the upcoming days!
