On October 19th, boy group SEVENTEEN revealed the MV for their new title track, ‘HOME;RUN’. This comes off their simultaneously released special album, ‘;[Semicolon]’. Check out the MV down below!
SEVENTEEN ‘HOME;RUN’ MV:
With lyrics including members Woozi, Vernon and Seungkwan, they express the wishes and dreams of the youth, sending a supportive message to chase after them. Instrumentally the swing track features a clapping beat that seamlessly transitions between the group’s various strong vocals and shorter rap sections. The brassy chorus that goes full on brings a catchy hook to attract listeners to want more.
Watching the MV, it begins with member S. Coups getting out a smashed car. Hit in the head with a baseball, it cracks opens exposing a diamond. Making the news, all the members acquire this knowledge and whilst being as a group playing cards at bar, the diamond gets stolen by Mingyu and Jeonghan. On the hunt, the remaining members chase after them. Seeing the diamond within a shop window, they smash the glass to take it back, finishing the story.
The choreographed sections of the music video show the group’s signature synchronization. Following the groovy beat, the sharp performance of all 13 members elevate the track’s appeal. Outfit and location wise, the video leans into the retro side with a fusion of new. With warm coloured suits dancing in front of an old theatre and steam powered train, this contrasts the similarly themed street style inspired attires.
The special album contains six tracks. These include four songs sung by different units split by the age groups within the group (those born in 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1998).
SEVENTEEN‘s special album ‘;[Semicolon]’ featuring the title track ‘HOME;RUN’ is available now.
