It’s been almost a year since their first performance of their second world tour and Super Junior have successfully concluded their “Super Show 5” with a concert in Beijing on February 22nd.
“Super Show 5” is Super Junior’s second world concert tour and fifth international tour and was to promote their sixth studio album, “Sexy, Free & Single”. The world tour started with two shows in Seoul in March 2013 and continued with four shows in South America, twenty shows in Asia, one show in North America and one in Europe, making it a total of twenty eight performances.
A lot of things happened during those eleven months. Kangin returned to the stage after being released from the army, Yesung announced at the Seoul concert that he would soon be enlisting for his mandatory military service (he enlisted on May 6th, 2013 and did not participate from the South American leg of the tour onward). Additionally, the group has set two records in South America! The first with their concert in Chile, that attracted 12,000 fans, making it the largest audience for a Korean group in South America. Second, with their concert in Mexico for which tickets were sold out in five hours, setting the record for the largest audience for a “Super Show” performed outside of Asia ,as well as obtaining the record for most attended concert in Latin America for a Korean group, with 15,994 fans attending.
Congratulations to Super Junior, and we hope to see their next tour be just as successful!
