The first trial for Super Junior‘s Kangin‘s DUI case will be held today (August 17th, 2016). Because it is a criminal case, Kangin will be making a personal appearance to explain his side of the incident.
Despite the fact that the accident was originally treated as a summary offense with Kangin being charged with a fine of 7 million won (about $6,400); the chief prosecuting attorney, at the time of review of the documents, has decided that the case should be taken care of with an official trial.
What Kangin will say during the trial is still unclear as he had admitted to driving under the influence during questioning.
Meanwhile, Kangin is on trial due to his hit and run accident on May 24th 2016. He hit a streetlight in front of a convenience store after which it was found that he had a blood alcohol content of 0.157%. Read more about it here.
