BTS has just released a second MV for their most recent title track ‘IDOL‘, but this version features Nicki Minaj!
Fans have been waiting for this version since the group have been dropping hints of an MV with this iconic rapper. Their album ‘Love Yourself: Answer‘ was released on August 18th, and is the last component of their ‘Love Yourself‘ series. The original MV for ‘IDOL‘ has already broken the record for the most viewed music video online in 24 hours, and it currently has 138+ million views on Youtube.

This new MV is very similar to the original, the main difference is the bridge where Nicki starts rapping and the end of the MV. Even though they filmed the MV separately, Nicki looks like she belongs in the video, as the colours of her outfit (not to mention her hair) match the atmosphere of the video.
You can see Nicki sitting on a multi-coloured couch, holding a fan, with lots of funky furniture surrounding her. While she raps in English, Korean characters appear in the background. This new section also features individual shots of the members with a similar background as her. Her addition to the song and the MV is incredibly gratifying, as in the past not many Western acts have collaborated with K-pop acts and BTS may just be the ones to change that with this release!
As an added bonus, this version of the MV includes snippets of fans doing the #IDOLCHALLENGE at the end. J-Hope started the challenge on Twitter, in which fans do the killing point of the choreography for ‘IDOL‘.
BTS is currently in Los Angeles on their ‘Love Yourself’ world tour. They are scheduled to perform on NBC‘s America’s Got Talent on September 5th during the first half of the semi-finals.
