G-Friend has finally released their debut music video for “Glass Bead,” and it has totally exceeded expectations.
My first thought while watching it was; no way this is a rookie group, they are too good! My second thought was; this has to become a drama. I mean, wouldn’t it be nice to have a drama about six dorky high school friends that play gymnastics during their free time? The girls act so well as classmates, that it’s hard to believe that they are not.
Their voices are really impressive. Not only do they easily achieve high notes, but there’s something unique about them. How many times have you listened to a new group, and thought that their voices remind you too much of another one? Fortunately, this doesn’t happen with G-Friend. Their voices are completely different from all the groups I’ve ever heard.
The choreography is the highlight of the MV.I’ve never seen such a nice choreography from a girl group before. Their synchrony is perfect, and the gymnastic-like moves are simply amazing! It will be really hard to see covers of “Glass Bead,” because the steps require a lot of flexibility.

After watching “Glass Bead,” many fans have been saying that they look like APink and Girls’ Generation. I do think they resemble these groups back during the time of their respective debuts, but not as they are right now. Both Apink and Girls’ Generation have been changing their concepts recently as they grow up and mature, so it’s cool to have a group with their original concept and a fresh look.
