On March 31st, KINGDOM released the music video to their new title track, ‘승천’ (‘Ascension’ translated). This comes along with their 4th mini album, ‘History of Kingdom: Part IV. Dann’. Concepted around each member representing a king throughout global history, the boys take us to their birthplace with this release. This marks the group’s return in approximately 6 months since their 3rd EP, ‘History of Kingdom: Part III. Ivan’ with the high impact title track, ‘Black Crown’.
Originally slated for a March 17 release, members Arthur and Mujin both tested positive for COVID-19 on March 14th. Postponing the release to this date, both have since recovered.
This MV focuses on fellow member Dann as the king of the South Korean nation, fighting against adversities. Swords drawn, he battles against all incoming foes on the ground and on horseback. Trickled throughout, we see grand performances of choreography, taking inspiration from the graceful elements of history. However once the chorus hits, the fire and intensity hits hard, showcasing the septet’s strong chemistry to create an eye-gluing dance for all. The final scenes of the MV, like in the group’s standard fashion, tease the concept for their next comeback.
