The Lunar New Year brings health, happiness, and a whole lot of hanboks!
What is a hanbok you ask?
- Hanbok literally means ‘korean clothes’, but usually refers to the type of clothing worn during the Joseon period (but you can think back to historical dramas like ‘Hwarang‘ and ‘Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo‘ to give you an idea)
- Although they were the standard OOTD 100 years ago, hanboks today are mainly worn for special occasions, ceremonies, and traditional holidays, like Lunar New Year
- If you ever find yourself in Seoul, you can hire a hanbok and tour various palaces and historical sites for free!
Here are some of our faves modelling traditional Korean dress!
