This comeback marks the return of member and leader, Haseul whom had been on hiatus due to her mental health since 2019. The group also recently announced they would release a Japanese version of ‘PPT (Paint The Town)’. LOONA ‘PPT (PAINT THE TOWN)’ MV:
Cooing that they will paint the town with their colours through the night, the song showcases a variety of genres. From hip hop to Bollywood influences, the girl crush track certainly stands out on its own. The beat drop in the chorus although may be expected, definitely defines the song permanently in the hard hitting girl crush territory. Fans of the 12-member group won’t be disappointed as the girls use their charms with numbers to release a track unique to them.
Watching the MV, we open in a religious temple-like structure. The members all assemble together wearing white rap dresses with red detailing. Filled with sand, the shear number of members in the Blockberry Creative group, in addition to the backup dancers create a cult-like synchronicity in their choreography routine. Switching to the chorus, the video then snaps to a stark contrast. Now adorning all black leather attires, the red fiery sky relate to a backdrop of a team going into war. With flags hoisted high, the turned battle themed video then continues to show the solidarity of the group all the way to the finale.
After the song ends, we see one final shot of a member, now dressed in a white blouse and blue skirt (similar in style to the group’s outfits in their group debut track, ‘Hi High’) lower her arm as if she was waving to something in the distance.
LOONA‘s 4th mini album, ‘&’, featuring the title track ‘PPT (Paint The Town)’ is available now!
